Service Overview

Google Ads

A lot of business owners have been burned by Google Ads, and we get it. Without the right structure, ads become a money pit. Our approach is different: we treat your ad budget like a fiduciary responsibility. Every campaign is built from the ground up to minimize spending while maximizing reach. We build multiple ad groups per business (location), each targeting specific search keywords that your ideal customers actually use. Each ad gets every logical and free feature Google offers (e.g. logos, images, callout extensions, sitelinks, snippets)  making your ads physically larger on the search results page. That is free real estate, and we know how to capture it. Your campaigns have two cost controls: a daily budget cap and a maximum cost-per-click for each ad group. You can adjust these at any time, and you can turn individual ad groups or entire campaigns on or off. You also receive a daily email summarizing the previous day's spend, clicks, conversions, and performance by ad group. This way your costs never go unnoticed. We call them "sniper" ads because we pick our shots carefully, but the metrics show they perform like an army where they cover broad ground at a fraction of what competitors spend. Included with the Web Platform service, but also available as a standalone engagement.

Campaign Focus

Our primary focus is High-Intent Search. We target users who are actively searching for your service right now. We generally avoid display networks or broad automated placements that dilute budget, preferring to keep ads focused strictly on the search results page where conversion intent is highest.

Engagement Options

We offer two distinct ways to engage with this service:

Launch & Handoff (One-Time)

We build the entire campaign architecture, perform the research, and configure the tracking. Once launched, we provide a calibration period to stabilize the account, then conduct a handover session to teach you the specific 'cost knobs' (Budgets and Max CPC) so you can manage the spend volume independently.

Active Management (Retainer/Platform)

For clients on our Web Platform, we provide ongoing monitoring. We watch search terms like a hawk, continuously refining negative keywords, adjusting bids based on market shifts, and optimizing ad copy to improve Quality Scores over time.

Benefits

Why This Matters

The tangible advantages you gain from this service.

01

A Revenue Stream, Not Just a Cost

When ads are structured correctly, they stop being an expense and start being a cash-positive channel. Once you can see the ROI through measurement, ad spend becomes an investment with quantifiable returns.

02

Diagnostic Insight Into Your Website

Ads tell you something about your site. If people click your ads but do not convert, that is a signal your landing page needs work. If they convert at a high rate, your site is doing its job. Ads become a feedback loop for your entire online presence.

03

Full Transparency and Control

You own the Google Ads account. You see every dollar spent via a daily email report. You can pause, adjust, or kill campaigns at any time. There are no hidden fees and no percentage-of-spend models that incentivize us to spend more of your money.

04

Competitive Pricing

Most ad agencies charge monthly management fees or take a percentage of your ad spend. Neither of those approaches motivates them to make your ads cheaper. We charge a flat fee to build your campaigns, and our entire philosophy is to minimize what you pay per click.

Roadmap

How It Works

The process from start to finish so that you always know what to expect.

01

Discovery Conversation

We start with a conversation to understand your business, services, target customers, and goals. We also come in cold and form our own assumptions about what your ideal customer searches for, because the gap between those assumptions and reality is informative.

02

Keyword Research & Campaign Architecture

We identify the campaigns and ad groups you need, then research the exact search keywords your potential customers use. Each ad group gets its own targeted keyword set.

03

Ad Content & Extensions

We craft the messaging for each ad, aligning it tightly with the keywords it targets. We implement every available extension (e.g. company logo, images, callout snippets, sitelinks)  to maximize your ad's physical footprint on the page.

04

Budget & Targeting Configuration

We set geographic targeting, time-of-day scheduling, daily budget caps, and cost-per-click limits. Everything is configured to prevent runaway spend.

05

Launch & Daily Reporting

Campaigns go live and you begin receiving daily email summaries showing spend, clicks, conversions, and performance by ad group. All the information you need in one digestible email.

06

Ongoing Observation & Optimization

Over time, some ads will outperform others. We can monitor results and course-correct. This could mean adjusting keywords, adding negative keywords, refining ad copy, or recommending website changes. Because the campaigns are built lean from the start, underperformance is a tuning problem, not a budget crisis.

Tips

Get the Most Out of This Service

Practical guidance to maximize your results.

Define Your Conversion Event

You need to know what "success" looks like on your website. Is it a phone call? A form submission? A booking? Google Ads needs to understand what counts as a conversion so it can better serve your ads. This is where Google Tag Manager comes in to help connect your website actions to your ad performance.

Eliminate Unqualified Clicks

A well-built ad filters out people who will never become your customers. If you are an in-person business, do not advertise outside your area. If you do not serve DIY customers, exclude those keywords. Precision targeting is where the real savings happen.

Google Protects Your Clicks

A common concern is that competitors will click your ads to waste your budget. Google implements over 100 behavioral heuristics to detect and disqualify fraudulent clicks. Your spend is more protected than most people realize.

Leverage Your Google Rep (Carefully)

Every Google Ads account gets a dedicated Google representative. They will try to get you to spend more because that’s their job. But they also have genuinely useful insights about campaign optimization. Take the free information, but evaluate every recommendation against your actual goals.

Is This Right for You?

Good Fits & Bad Fits

Here's how to know if this service aligns with your situation.

Good Fit

Strong Businesses Lacking SEO VisibilityYou run a solid company but your website does not rank well yet. Ads let you jump to the front of the line for specific queries while organic SEO builds over time.
New Websites Needing TrafficYour pages are freshly indexed and need real user activity to help establish search credibility. Ads bridge the gap between launch and organic traction.
Budget-Conscious Owners Who Want ControlYou want advertising that you can measure, adjust, and shut off at any moment and no open-ended agency retainer.

Not the Best Fit

Broken Business ModelsGoogle Ads cannot fix fundamental profitability issues. You need profit margins that can absorb the cost of acquisition.
Poor Website ExperienceIf your website does not convert visitors, sending more traffic to it with ads is throwing money away. It is like showing up to a blind date looking nothing like the photo. The long-term play is a strong website first, then ads to amplify it.
Companies Wanting Fully Hands-Off ManagementThe standalone service delivers a completed campaign. Ongoing optimization and monitoring come with the Web Platform package or would require a separate engagement.
Pricing

Pricing Structure

Web Platform customers receive Google Ads setup and ongoing monitoring as part of their package. As a standalone service, we charge a one-time flat fee to research, build, and launch your campaigns. The cost varies based on complexity, but we do not anticipate exceeding $2,500. At the end of the engagement, you own the campaigns outright with no monthly management fees, no percentage of ad spend. The campaign(s) will be yours. We also offer an optional daily email reporting system at a nominal cost to cover the email delivery service.

The Difference

Efficiency Through Logic

Ad spend is often treated as a blunt instrument, but here it is handled with surgical precision. The goal is to maximize the utility of every dollar spent. By focusing on high-intent search queries and engineering the technical flow from the click to the landing page, we eliminate the waste common in standard campaigns. This approach prioritizes lean, logical bidding strategies and rigorous data filtering to ensure traffic is not just high in volume, but high in value and intent.

We Stay In It With You

Budget Bench is not a build-and-leave vendor. When you sign up, you get a committed partner who monitors your metrics, makes adjustments, and is available when things change. Your website is too important and too sophisticated to hand off and hope for the best. We stay because we are personally invested in your results, and because a platform this capable needs someone at the controls.

Questions

Analyzing the Strategy

A successful campaign is built on transparency and logical constraints. These answers address the mechanics of how we structure search intent, how budgets are protected from low-quality traffic, and the data required to verify performance. The focus is on providing the technical context you need to understand how your advertising budget is being utilized to generate specific, measurable outcomes.

Our core philosophy is that ads should only run in certain places, at certain times, and at the lowest possible cost. We build targeted campaigns with granular budget controls so you always know what you are spending and can adjust it at any time. We call them "sniper" ads because we are precise about targeting, but the performance data shows they cover broad ground at a fraction of what competitors typically spend.

Because without the right structure, ads become a money trap. If you are targeting the wrong keywords, advertising outside your service area, running ads when no one is available to answer the phone, or failing to filter out unqualified searchers, you will spend money without seeing returns. The barrier to entry is real, and most business owners either try to do it themselves without the expertise or hire agencies whose pricing model does not incentivize cost efficiency.

We build multiple ad groups per business location, each targeting specific search keywords that your ideal customers actually use. Each ad group has its own cost-per-click cap and is part of a campaign with a daily budget cap. This two-level budget control means you can fine-tune spending at both the campaign and individual ad level. You can turn any ad group or campaign on or off at any time.

Ad extensions are additional elements you can attach to your Google Ads for free: company logos, images, callout text, sitelinks to specific pages, structured snippets, and more. They make your ad physically larger on the search results page, which gives you more screen real estate without costing anything extra. We implement every extension that makes sense for your business because there is no reason not to.

Every morning, you receive an email summarizing the previous day's ad performance: how much was spent, which ad groups received clicks, how many clicks occurred, whether any conversions were detected, and a breakdown by ad group. This keeps your spending visible without requiring you to log into the Google Ads dashboard. All the information you need is in one digestible email. You get them every day, regardless if ads run, which can feel a little annoying but also informs you that you didn’t spend any money like you expected.

A conversion event is an action taken on your website that you define as a "success." It might be a phone call, a form submission, a booking request, or any other meaningful interaction. Google Ads uses conversion tracking to understand whether your ads are leading to these outcomes, which helps it optimize ad delivery over time. Setting this up correctly through Google Tag Manager is essential for understanding your actual return on ad spend.

This is a common concern and the answer is that Google has extensive protections against this. Google implements over 100 behavioral heuristics to detect and disqualify invalid clicks. Fraudulent or suspicious click activity is filtered out and you are not charged for it. Your ad budget is more protected than most people realize. As an example of what Google knows, if I were to use my personal email to google a business whose website I’ve deployed, Google will show me special graphics because it knows I deployed the site. This is with my personal email which is only connected because it created the google workspace that owns my work email, where my work account is what created the website.

Manual CPC means you set the maximum amount you are willing to pay per click on each ad group. You have direct control over costs. Automated bidding strategies like "Maximize Conversions" let Google's algorithm decide how much to bid. Google representatives will often recommend automated bidding, and it can make sense in some scenarios, but for budget-conscious campaigns where cost control is the priority, Manual CPC gives you the precision we want.
